Ron Nelson has been tattooing for two decades, getting his start in the hustling New Orleans' street shops of the 1990's. He is a versatile artist who enjoys all styles of tattooing, particularly the clean lines and timeless styles of traditional Americana.

Doug began learning to tattoo while attending the Marylamd Institute, College of Art in the late 80's and has been tattooing full time since the early 1990's. He spent a few years working at Tattoos By Lou in Miami, then moved to Tampa to work for Annette LRue at Blue Devil Tattoo. In 2003 he moved to Santa Cruz to work at Staircase Tattoo where he stayed until late 2013 when he left to open Mission Street Tattoo with his partners. Doug has been inspired and influenced by such tattoo artists as Horiyoshi III, Greg Irons, Filip Leu, Shige and Chris Garver, to name just a few. When he's not tattooing or painting, you can find Doug hanging out with his family, practicing Aikido, shooting arrows, or trying to increase his bowling score.

Gio started tattooing in Miami, Florida in the mid 90's. The shop where he learned his philosophy and beliefs were strongly rooted int the American traditional style of the art of tattooing. He moved to beautiful Santa Cruz 9 years ago where we worked at a local shop. He's glad to now co-own Mission Street Tattoo with his buddies and looking forward to many years of great times and tattoos!

My journey along the path as a body modification professional began in 1998 in Lancaster, California at Mike Pike's Psycho City Tattoo. I've been blessed to be in Santa Cruz since 2002 and enjoyed the opportunity to hone my bedside manner & ability to translate idea-to-skin designs for clients at such great shops here as F-U Tattoo & Chimera Tattoo Studio. I joined the Mission Street Tattoo family in October 2014 & look forward to the years of growth in all the art forms that I create here, including detail oriented black & gray tattoo work, to oil painting, graphic t-shirt design or anything else that is presented to me in my quest as an eternal student of creation in this life.
